The Simpsons tackles the first 100 days of Trump – and it’s the stuff of nightmares

Much has been said about Donald Trump’s eventful first 100 days in office, which will be officially marked on April 29.

Now The Simpsons is wading in with their take on the president’s progress – and what a dystopian nightmare it is.

The short clip released Thursday has already clocked up 4.6 million views since being posted on the show’s Facebook page.

As a storm breaks out over the White House, the much mocked press secretary Sean Spicer is seen having hanged himself, a sign attached to him that says “I quit”, with Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway saying “I am not replacing him” as she runs off.

But the main attraction is Trump, who is seen in bed recapping his first 100 days.

“So many accomplishments,” he says. “Lowered my golf handicap, my Twitter following increased by 700 and finally we can shoot hibernating bears, my boys will love that.”

It is also revealed, as many have suspected, that Trump’s hair is in fact a small dog. His bedtime reading matter includes The Little Book of Big Bombs, Florida on $10 Million a Day and Killing a Good Thing, purportedly written by the ousted, disgraced Fox News host Bill O’Reilly.

Elsewhere Ivanka Trump is seen being appointed the new Supreme Court Justice and spruiking her robes on her home shopping channel, which features payment in roubles only.

Homer and Marge are at home watching Ivanka’s appointment, with Marge chugging back the last of her Prozac and lamenting “this was supposed to last me the whole four years”.

Then a voiceover announces that the 100 days mark is only “6.8 per cent of the way home” towards the end of Trump’s term in the White House.

Now that’s a truly terrifying prospect.

The Simpsons airs in on Channel Ten.
